Ms Traynor teaches Sixth Class.
There are 14 pupils in our class.
Sixth Class have been very busy during September and October. They created some beautiful art work, wrote some fantastic poems in English, wrote their own menus in Irish and they also compiled fantastic projects on a topic of their own choosing. Here are some pictures showing this wonderful work.
You're never too old to have fun in the playground!
During November we studied The Aztecs. The children researched this topic and compiled wonderful projects. As part of our Art, the children designed and made these beautiful mosaic Aztec masks.
Cubism by Picasso
The children learned all about the lungs and they had great fun creating their own model of the lungs using a plastic bottle, balloons, straws and clingfilm!
STEM Week December 3rd - 7th 2018
Our STEM project for STEM Week was based on electricity. The children were put working in pairs. Each group were given a battery, a Christmas light, tinfoil and a paper fastener. They were asked to make a simple circuit and get the bulb to light. The circuit also had to contain a switch, the paper fastener was to be used to make a switch.
The children were then given another light bulb and asked to create a parallel circuit.
Each group were then asked to create a Christmas themed picture which included at least two lights and they had to build the circuit on the back of the picture. This posed many problems but the children were very good at finding solutions!
Dogs Trust Visit
Magic the dog and his owner Paul visited our classroom. Paul told us Magic's story and advised us on how we should look after dogs in our care.
