Farnham N.S. Parents Association

Parents Association  -  mailto:farnhamns.parentsassoc@gmail.com
The Parents Association is the structure through which parents in our school can work together for the best possible education of our children.  The Parents Association works with the Principal, Staff and Board of Management to build effective partnership between the home and school.

The main aims of the Parents Association are:
  • To foster good communication between Parents and Teachers
  • To work on fund-raising events to raise money for the school

The Parent Association is not a forum for complaint against either an individual teacher or parent. The Complaints Procedure is the mechanism for this.

A new committee is elected every year at the Annual General Meeting which is usually held in October. New parents are actively encouraged to join the committee.

Main Activities of the Parents Association

The committee is very active in fund raising and assisting the teachers in the running of special events for the children of the school. Over the last number of years the committee were involved in :
  • Personal Accident Insurance cover for all students in the school
  • Santa's Visit to the school at Christmas
  • Christmas Carol singing in the market square
  • March Fundraiser - Table Quiz/Race Night
  • Sponsored school walk in Killykeen Forest Park
  • First Communion refreshments at school for pupils and families
  • Graduation Night
  • Golf Classic, generally run every 2 years
  • Providing refreshments at the school sports day
