Congratulations to the Class of 2015 who Graduated from Farnham School on Monday evening the 22nd of June. A wonderful evening was had in the school and we would like to take this opportunity to thank the Parents Association for putting on a wonderful spread for our Graduating Class and their families. We would also like to give a special word of thanks to Annemarie Sexton who did a fantastic job of producing this years graduation book. Hours of painstaking work went into it, so well done Annemarie, it will be a lovely keepsake for the kids (and parents and teachers) to keep.

The June edition of The Parents' Association Newsletter has been distributed. You will find a copy below. Click here to bring you to their current events page where you see some lovely pictures of the Graduation night on Monday the 22nd of June in the school. ![]() The sun shone down brightly for Sports Day 2015 and what a great day it was. We began the day with running races for each class before splitting up to compete at different stations. The obstacle course was definitely a favourite! Big thanks to those who donated the bales of hay, tyres and nets. Lots of fun was had! Laura and Tina and all at Cavan SPCA sent this letter of thanks to the knitting club along with these two pictures of lovely Riley all wrapped up!
Thank You so much for the knitted blankets & a big thanks to all the wonderful children who spent time knitting them. They put a lot of thought in to it with their wonderful colours :-) !! Its lovely to see Children showing an interest in animal rescue & we are delighted they choose us as their charity to donate them too.All the blankets will be put to great use. I will attach a picture of Riley a Jack Russell who is in foster care at the moment awaiting his new home. Riley was saved from a pound with severe injuries 7 weeks ago (now recovered) and he came in to the care of Cavan Spca. We placed Riley in a foster home as we felt he needed the extra one to one attention, & to help him overcome his fear of humans .Riley had open wounds on his back & his side and the vet along with ourselves suspect he was spiked with something. Last night Riley was making great use of his blanket that he loves & he also likes to be wrapped up at night. Many thanks. Laura,Tina & all at Cavan Spca (two legged & four legged ) x Junior and Senior Infants recently had a very enjoyable end of year school tour. The day set off to a good start with plenty of activity at Kool Kids play centre which the children had great fun on the slides, climbing wall and they were delighted to get their faces painted with their favourite cartoon characters!!
Subsequently the children visited Cavan Garda Station where they were given a great insight into the different parts of the station and they were also afforded an opportunity to get their fingerprints taken and experiment with walkie-talkies. Indeed, there was much banter among the little ones when Ms. McDonald was locked into the cell!! It certainly was a memorable visit and we thank the Gardaí for giving us the chance to see what daily life in a busy Garda Station is really like. We rounded the day off nicely with a trip to Synergy gym, where the children rocked some moved at a Gymka session. A great day was had by all and it was lovely for us to enjoy a sample of the landmarks and activities our town has to offer.' |
