Well done to our Girls Gaelic Football team on another great win!
On Wednesday May 25th, our Girls GAA team travelled to Ballyjamesduff and faced a strong St. Clare's team. Thankfully, we came home with a win and we are now through to the Cumann na mBunscol Division One Semi-Final. We will play Mullagh in the Semi Final and it takes place on Tuesday June 7th at 4pm in Stradone (Laragh pitch). All support welcome. Well done so far ladies and best of luck! Congratulations to our Girls Gaelic team who were victorious in their first match on Thursday May 12th. The girls defeated a fantastic Belturbet team with a pulsating end to a very tight game.
Well done to all the players from 4th, 5th and 6th class. We are so proud of you all and best of luck in your next game! Sixth Class students along with four teachers headed to Dublin on Friday the 6th of June for the school tour. First stop was Glasnevin cemetery where we were given an hour long tour which included stops at the graves of Charles Stewart Parnell, James Connolly, Éamon de Valera and Michael Collins to name but a few. We then headed to Kilmainham Gaol. We had a quick look in the museum and then commenced the tour with our very informative guide. Next stop was our picnic lunch in Phoenix park. We had a lovely view of Áras an Uachtaráin and the ice cream van pulling up was a definite plus! Next we headed on to Jumpzone in Santry where a very energetic time was had - going by all the flushed faces afterwards. Our last stop was McDonalds before heading back home to the school. A very enjoyable day was had by all!
